Performance without control is useless. The Quietside ODW unit uses our revolutionary Exactemp control to keep the delivered water temperature within 2°F of the set point at all times. Three temperature sensors measure the water temperatures throughout the unit. The first measures the incoming water temperature. This information together with the actual flow rate of water through the unit is fed to the microprocessor, allowing the unit to calculate the performance required from the gas valve. The second temperature sensor monitors the water temperature leaving the S Line Heat Exchangers. This is always 10 to 20°F higher than the required set point, allowing the Bypass Temperature control valve to open and bleed just the right amount of the cold incoming water into the leaving water to blend it down to within 2°F of the temperature set point on the remote controller. The last temperature sensor measures the delivered water temperature just prior to the water leaving the unit. This ensures that the water temperature at the shower or faucet is an “Exactemp”.

Easy Installation
Tired of trying to work out the venting arrangements for a tankless water heater? Wish you had installed the Isolation Valve kit for easy servicing? Can’t work out what you need with all the accessories listed by our competition?
The S Line Heat Exchangers reduce the flue gas temperatures to approximately 130°F allowing the use of Schedule 40 PVC (SLC636 in Canada) flue and intake piping. Up to 45 equivalent Feet of 3” or 4” venting with a maximum of 3 elbows can be used to vent these units. Not only is Schedule 40 PVC (SLC636 in Canada) simple to work with, it attaches directly to both the vent connections on the units and to the termination kit (provided). It is also a fraction of the cost of the Stainless venting required on other Tankless units. No longer does the venting cost as much as the unit. Easy, quick, low cost, and hassle free venting can be done both vertically and sidewall. Everybody agrees that using an Isolation Valve kit is the best way to install a Tankless Water Heater. So does Quietside, however to make it the standard, Quietside is happy to provide an Isolation Valve kit, plus ASME Pressure Relief valve with every ODW unit. Servicing and Maintenance just got a whole lot easier. Confused with all the accessories available for these Tankless units? Quietside provides the Termination kit and the Isolation Valves with the unit. The only accessory you need to worry about is our easy to install LP gas conversion kit. .Don’t forget: The Quietside ODW is now backed by our 12 year Heat Exchanger and 5 year Parts warranty, plus Technical Support and training programs recognized as some of the best in the industry.
What’s inside the ODW?
With features such as our unique S-Line Heat Exchangers, Exactemp Technology, a Modulating Gas Valve, an innovative Microprocessor that controls all of water heater’s functions and the ability to use Schedule 40 PVC (SLC636 in Canada) venting materials over stainless steel, the ODW is not your ordinary Tankless. . .
PVC Venting
With the S Line Heat Exchangers, the flue gas exiting the ODW is reduced to approximately 130°F from the 300° plus of “normal” tankless water heaters. In addition to the gains in performance and efficiency, this allows the use of Schedule 40 PVC (SLC636 in Canada) vent materials reducing the time and cost of installing the ODW.
S-Line Heat Exchangers
Quietside’s unique use of the S Line dual heat exchangers maximizes efficiency and minimizes noise levels. With the latent or wet recuperative heat exchanger mounted at an offset above the primary heat exchanger the flue gas is forced to travel in an S pattern maximizing heat transfer and increasing the product performance and efficiency.
Gas Valve
To provide hot water at the required temperature over a wide variety of flow rates, the gas valves used in the ODW units have a turn down ratio of 8:1, controlled by the built-in microprocessor. This technology is the first step in performance and a stable delivered water temperature
Microprocessor
To ensure the unit is operating at peak performance and efficiency a microprocessor is used to control all of the unit’sfunctions. Utilizing 10 sensors throughout the unit, the microprocessor is constantly monitoring operations, and will provide self diagnostic error codes in the unlikely event of a failure occurring.
Priority Water Temperature Controller
Priority Temperature control allows dual hot water setpoints to be used in a single house. The Priority controller can override the standard setpoint allowing for warmer or colder water to be used. For example adult bathing vs children, laundry vs bathing, etc. Both controllers are installed on the system and the priority button is used to override the existing setpoint.
